Job Description

Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assembler II to join their manufacturing team in Sparks, Nevada. This role involves the assembly and installation of compressor units, using various mechanical components and tools, while ensuring quality and adherence to safety policies. The assembler will also participate in testing and troubleshooting after assembly to meet customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble compressors and subassemblies according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Overhaul and repair used compressors or components as needed.
  • Control manufacturing expenses through effective use of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure effective communication within the department and across functions.
  • Maintain plant facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in cross-training within the production department.
  • Set up and test run completed machines.
  • Train new employees on processes and standards.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, structural drawings, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to software applications.
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and generators.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Valid driver's license.
