Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I to join their manufacturing team in Benicia, CA. The role involves the assembly and installation of compressor units using specified mechanical components, ensuring quality and adherence to customer specifications. The assembler will collaborate within the manufacturing environment and carry out various operational tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble compressors and subassemblies according to blueprints and specifications
  • Overhaul and repair used compressors as needed
  • Control manufacturing expenses through proper use of supplies and equipment
  • Package products prior to shipping as required
  • Maintain effective communication within the department
  • Adhere to safety policies and practices
  • Participate in cross training within the Production Department
  • Set up and test-run completed machines and equipment

Required skills

  • Degree from technical school or equivalent experience
  • One year experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawings and schematics
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic computer skills and adaptability to software applications
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors
  • Ability to perform calculations
  • Effective communication skills

What the company offers
