Job Description

Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I to join their manufacturing team in Sparks, NV. The role involves the assembly and installation of compressor units, utilizing hand and power tools, and ensuring all components meet quality and operational standards according to specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble compressors and their subassemblies according to blueprints and specifications
  • Overhaul and repair used compressors or components as required
  • Maintain effective communication within the department and other company functions
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and practices
  • Participate in cross training within the Production Department
  • Set up and test machines for noise and vibration using test equipment
  • Provide packaging for products before shipping
  • Notify supervisor of supply and tool levels for production
  • Perform all other duties as directed by the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager

Required skills

  • One year experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic in a related field
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and operating manuals
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to various software applications
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tooling
  • Ability to perform calculations such as percentages and ratios
  • Strong communication skills for information exchange
