Job Description

Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I to join their team in Sparks, Nevada. This full-time position involves the installation and assembly of compressor units and components using mechanical parts according to blueprints and specifications, as well as testing for operation and quality control.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble compressors and subassemblies following blueprints and specifications.
  • Overhaul and repair compressors or components as necessary.
  • Control manufacturing expenses through efficient use of supplies and adherence to labor standards.
  • Package products for shipping as required.
  • Ensure effective communication within the department and with other company functions.
  • Adhere to safety policies and maintain plant facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in cross-training within the Production Department.
  • Set up and test-run completed machines for performance.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and assist supervisors as directed.

Required skills

  • Degree from technical school or equivalent experience.
  • One year experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to various software applications.
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tooling.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

What the company offers

  • $21.00 per hour compensation, depending on experience.
