Job Description

Overview

RIX Industries is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I to join their manufacturing team in Sparks, Nevada. The role involves the assembly and installation of compressor units using mechanical components, following blueprints and other specifications while ensuring quality output in accordance with customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble compressors and subassemblies according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Overhaul and repair used compressors and components as needed.
  • Control manufacturing expenses through proper use of supplies and meeting labor standards.
  • Package products prior to shipping.
  • Notify supervisor of supply levels for completion of production.
  • Maintain effective communication within the department and across functions.
  • Adhere to safety policies and maintain plant facilities.
  • Participate in cross-training within the Production Department.
  • Set up and test-run completed machines.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor.

Required skills

  • Degree from technical school or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic.
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawings and schematics.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Basic computer skills and adaptability to software applications.
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and manufacturing tooling.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

What the company offers
