Overview

As a Mechanic III at McLane Company, you will be part of a diverse team responsible for keeping operations running smoothly. This advanced role requires performing complex mechanical and electrical repairs, with a focus on diesel engine and refrigeration unit maintenance. You'll have opportunities to develop your skills alongside industry leaders while making meaningful connections with colleagues nationwide.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Conduct major repairs on refrigeration units and diesel engines
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, and fuel systems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on units
  • Weld and fabricate components as needed
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and computer input
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule and participate in on-call rotations

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Class C Driver's License (preferably Class A)
  • 3+ years of experience in major diesel repairs and heavy-duty tractor-trailer repairs
  • 5+ years documented fleet maintenance experience or equivalent
  • ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Truck Brakes and Suspension and Steering
  • Thermo King advanced training and Cummins or Detroit certification
  • Familiarity with welding and fabrication tools
  • Proficiency in required software
  • Strong communication skills in English
