Overview

Denali Water Solutions LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered equipment, trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery in the Charlotte, NC area. This role is essential for ensuring safe, efficient operations and supporting fleet reliability while maintaining compliance with safety standards and DOT regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system issues
  • Repair or replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and fuel systems
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment meets DOT and company safety standards
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and repair documentation accurately and timely
  • Perform emergency repairs and roadside service calls when necessary
  • Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized repair equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair timelines with supervisors and operations teams
  • Assist with inventory control and parts management as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school certification or diesel mechanic training preferred
  • 2 years of diesel maintenance or heavy equipment repair experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance practices
  • Experience working with Class A or B commercial vehicles preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documents
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in varying weather conditions
