Overview

Denali Water Solutions LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for their team in Statesville, North Carolina. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations while adhering to safety standards and DOT regulations. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with diesel engines and systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system issues
  • Repair or replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and fuel systems
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment meets safety standards
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately and timely
  • Perform emergency repairs and roadside service calls as necessary
  • Operate diagnostic tools and specialized repair equipment safely
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair timelines with supervisors
  • Assist with inventory control and parts management as needed

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school certification or diesel mechanic training preferred
  • 2 years of diesel maintenance or heavy equipment repair experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Experience working with Class A or B commercial vehicles preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
