Overview

The role of a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic involves conducting preventive maintenance on mobile equipment, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical failures, and performing repairs or replacements of defective parts. This position is based in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, and offers modern equipment and excellent working conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical failures
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Read and interpret technical plans, diagrams, and schematics
  • Produce comprehensive repair reports
  • Operate lifting equipment (overhead crane, carts, lifts, etc.)
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Required skills

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity
  • Ability to operate equipment to reproduce failures in real situations
  • Use of diagnostic devices
  • Ability to crimp a hydraulic hose according to specifications
  • Comfortable using welding equipment and torches
  • Class 5 driver's license required
