Overview

Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineer to join their Materials and Processes Engineering Department in Savannah, Georgia. The role entails developing new NDI techniques, defining inspection requirements, and supporting the integration of advanced NDT technologies into manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain NDT inspection procedures in accordance with industry standards.
  • Review and approve site-specific NDT procedures for metallic components.
  • Design and optimize NDT systems and automated inspection solutions.
  • Assist with internal and supplier audits and provide technical guidance to Level I and II technicians.
  • Support engineering design reviews and define NDT requirements during design phases.
  • Lead root cause analysis for material or mechanical failures.
  • Identify appropriate NDT methods for inspection of composite and metals components.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, or technical curriculum.
  • 8 years of experience in NDT and quality systems, particularly with composites and metals.
  • 2 ASNT Level 3 certifications.
  • Experience with FAA production approval inspection methods.
  • Ability to operate data analysis software for NDT testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
