Job Description

Overview

The Materials Process Engineer at ACO, Inc. is focused on enhancing manufacturing process efficiency through lean manufacturing principles. This role involves producing products, developing processes, troubleshooting production issues, and recommending materials for specific applications based on data and expertise.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes for product manufacturing
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Assess labor and material variance in production facilities
  • Collect data on labor times, material scrap, and streamline job processes
  • Collaborate with other engineers to create fixtures, tooling, and shop floor improvements
  • Participate in product testing as appropriate
  • Design technical layouts for shop equipment and facilities
  • Support conversion of small-scale processes to large-scale operations
  • Work closely with teams for quality control of raw materials
  • Estimate manufacturing costs for shop jobs and consult with representatives
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or chemical engineering
  • At least three years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor, and Lucidchart
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and product testing documentation software
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
