Job Description

Overview

The Materials Process Engineer at ACO, Inc. is responsible for enhancing manufacturing process flow through lean manufacturing principles. This role involves producing products and developing processes to meet quality, cost, and efficiency standards while troubleshooting production issues and recommending materials and manufacturing practices for specific applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve manufacturing process efficiency, output, and safety.
  • Evaluate and implement processes and operating systems for product manufacturing.
  • Create, edit, and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Assess labor and material variance within production facilities.
  • Collect data on part labor times, material scrap, and streamline job processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to create fixtures, tooling, and improvements.
  • Support conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
  • Work closely with teams for quality control of raw materials.
  • Estimate shop job costs for accurate manufacturing costs.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or chemical engineering
  • At least three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer or process engineer
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor, and Lucid chart
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
