Description: Materials PlannerReports To: Sr. Supply Chain ManagerFLSA Status: Exempt (Salary)Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Flexible) (Schedule varies based on business needs).Date: March 1, 2026Position SummaryThe Materials Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing material requirements to support production schedules and customer demand. This role ensures the timely availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods while balancing inventory levels, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.The Materials Planner works closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, quality, and Engineering to support uninterrupted production, minimize shortages and excess inventory, and contribute to overall supply chain performance. At this time, we are only considering candidates who currently reside within state/local area and are authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Applicants outside of this geographic area will not be considered.Essential FunctionsDevelop, maintain, and manage material plans to support production schedules and customer demand.Analyze material requirements based on forecasts, production plans, and on-hand/available-to-promise inventory.Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials; expedite/de-expedite as needed.Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess, and obsolescence; recommend safety stock and min/max settings.Review and adjust material plans in response to changes in demand, engineering revisions, capacity constraints, or supply disruptions.Collaborate with Manufacturing and Scheduling to align material availability with production plans and capacity.Track and report material availability, shortages, supplier OTIF, and inventory KPIs; propose corrective actions.Maintain accurate planning data (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, BOMs) within ERP/MRP systems.Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase planning accuracy, reduce waste, and improve supply reliability.Investigate and resolve material-related issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.Participate in cross-functional meetings focused on production planning, new product introduction, and phase-in/phase-out.Support audits and compliance activities related to inventory control, traceability, and material management.Maintain regular and punctual attendance and communicate planned or unplanned absences in accordance with company policy.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety protocols and standards.Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.Safety ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety policies and procedures.Comprehend, retain, and comply with established safety programs.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.Minimum of three (3) years of materials planning, production planning, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and basic planning parameters (lead time, lot size, safety stock).Strong understanding of inventory management principles (cycle counting, turns, ABC classification) and production planning.Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret forecasts, schedules, and inventory data.Effective communication and collaboration skills across functions and levels.Strong organization and time-management skills with attention to detail.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Must be at least 18 years of age.Reliable attendance, punctuality, and timely communication of planned and unplanned absences in accordance with company policy.PreferredExperience in a regulated or ISO-certified manufacturing environment.Experience supporting Lean or continuous improvement initiatives.Working Conditions & Physical Requireme
