Job Description

Overview

The Material Handler Distribution position at JTM Food Group involves operating a forklift and pallet jack within a freezer warehouse to manage merchandise. The role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring that products are accurately prepared for shipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Unload and load trailers, verifying stacking and freight accuracy
  • Report shortages, damages, and misplacements
  • Identify and recover shipping or received damages
  • Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment
  • Efficiently perform picking duties that meet customer service standards
  • Move products from staging or storage areas to trailers
  • Stack and stage products and materials
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in warehouses and equipment
  • Communicate with internal and external customers

Required skills

  • Forklift operation experience
  • High school degree or equivalent certification
  • Good math and reading skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team
  • Capability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures
  • Experience in inventory management and food safety
