Job Description

Overview

The Material Handler for Metalcraft of Mayville is responsible for maintaining and verifying outbound shipment records and ensuring stock levels for all department stations. This position operates on the 3rd shift from 10 PM to 6 AM, Sunday through Thursday, and involves various material handling tasks using forklifts and other equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant or work site
  • Reads work orders or follows instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
  • Conveys materials to and from storage or work sites using a forklift, hand truck, or electric dolly
  • Operates industrial trucks or electric hoists as needed
  • Completes daily inspections before operating the forklift
  • Assists with routine housekeeping tasks as related to the plant's 6s plan
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
