Job Description

Overview

The Material Handler position at Tractor Supply Company in Nampa, Idaho, is responsible for receiving store inventory, selecting merchandise for shipping, and ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and safely. The role focuses on inventory management, quality control, and compliance with safety standards while working in a fast-paced distribution center environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments and direct merchandise to the appropriate area
  • Check inventory against bills of lading and packing slips
  • Process and maintain records of goods received, rejecting damaged or misdirected items
  • Pick and prepare store supply and UPS orders for shipment
  • Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Move merchandise within the distribution center using forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ensure job assignments are completed accurately and in compliance with safety regulations

Required skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in a distribution center
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds continuously
  • Basic math skills and ability to count accurately
  • Knowledge of operating RF terminals, barcode scanners, and other material handling equipment
  • Strong communication skills in English
