Job Description

Overview

The Master Scheduler/Planner at Baker Manufacturing Company is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory objectives, and operational efficiency for the company's manufacturing and foundry operations. The role involves working cross-functionally to implement a technology-driven SIOP process while managing forecasts and ensuring timely availability of materials.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage forecasts and planning requirements based on historical sales and customer demand.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet delivery requirements and maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate schedules with production supervisors, foundry leadership, and other departments.
  • Monitor production progress, inventory levels, and make necessary schedule adjustments.
  • Communicate order statuses, production priorities, and potential risks to stakeholders.
  • Organize and support annual physical inventory activities.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend changes to planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing for timely availability of materials.
  • Prepare reports on production and inventory issues impacting customer shipments.
  • Support implementation of improved planning tools and technology-driven processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency and customer service.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent work exper
  • Three to five years of production planning, scheduling, inventory management, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, foundry experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably EPICOR and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
