Job Description

Overview

The Master Scheduler/Planner at Baker Manufacturing Company is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align with customer demand and operational efficiency within the company's manufacturing and foundry operations. This role supports the transition to more advanced, technology-driven processes and works cross-functionally to implement the SIOP process and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage forecasts and planning requirements based on historical sales and customer demand
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Coordinate schedules with production supervisors and other stakeholders
  • Monitor production progress and make necessary schedule adjustments
  • Communicate order status and potential risks to stakeholders
  • Organize annual inventory activities and manage inventory adjustments
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend changes to stocking levels
  • Collaborate with Purchasing for timely availability of materials
  • Prepare reports identifying production or inventory issues
  • Support the implementation of improved planning tools and processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of production planning and inventory management experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required; foundry experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably EPICOR and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
