Job Description

Overview

As a Manufacturing Supervisor at Clarios, you will oversee production operations on the 2nd shift in St. Joseph, Missouri, ensuring output goals, safety standards, and employee engagement are consistently met. You will lead a team of production personnel while coordinating daily manufacturing activities and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Key responsibilities

  • Train and coach production personnel for safe and efficient performance
  • Maintain strong employee relations and apply policies consistently
  • Manage staffing levels and assign work effectively to meet production goals
  • Enforce health, environmental, and safety standards on the plant floor
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by investigating variances
  • Monitor KPIs such as scrap rates, productivity, and labor/material usage

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work any assigned shift and required overtime
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
