Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Maintenance Tech 3 is responsible for the optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment at bioMerieux's Durham facility. This role requires advanced technical skills to perform complex troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on both mechanical and electronic systems while also mentoring entry-level technicians.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment issues
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level technicians
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols
  • Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance
  • Intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting and schematic reading
  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls experience
  • Ability to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLCs
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing maintenance
  • Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office tools
