Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Maintenance Tech 3 at bioMérieux is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment in Durham, North Carolina. This role involves complex troubleshooting, repairs, continuous improvement, and mentorship of less experienced technicians, emphasizing technical expertise and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems independently
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment issues
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level technicians
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP, ISO standards, and safety protocols
  • Utilize and maintain accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related experience in electro-mechanical maintenance
  • Intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting and reading schematics
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems
  • Ability to read ladder logic and troubleshoot/repair PLCs and electrical systems
  • Proficient in machining, welding, and fabricating
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word & Excel)
