Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Daniel Defense is responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering team and overseeing the development and improvement of manufacturing processes. This role focuses on ensuring product functionality, quality, and cost efficiency while supporting new product introductions and maintaining safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the Manufacturing Engineering team
  • Oversee development and implementation of manufacturing processes
  • Ensure project milestones and goals are met on time and within budget
  • Support new product development and coordinate with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement improvement plans
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and maintain production and quality metrics
  • Drive improvements in equipment safety, quality, efficiency, and availability
  • Provide training and development for team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system malfunctions

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of prior manufacturing experience in a metal working environment
  • Management or supervisory experience of 5-7+ years
  • Strong experience with Solidworks, Mastercam, or similar software
  • CNC experience and knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience deploying Lean Principles and Technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Good knowledge of materials and heat treating processes
  • Detail-oriented with creative problem-solving skills
