Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer III position at Jabil Circuit, Inc. in Prince George, VA, is focused on supporting the startup of a new factory that manufactures large, complex equipment. The engineer will play a key role in establishing manufacturing processes, optimizing workflows, and onboarding personnel to ensure efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for large form-factor assemblies
  • Design and optimize assembly workstations, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
  • Conduct process capability studies and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans
  • Train production personnel on new processes and quality standards
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and automation solutions
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to production efficiency, quality, and cost
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems on the production floor
  • Support new product introduction for large assemblies
  • Drive Manufacturing Execution System configuration

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Strong focus on large form-factor assembly processes
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing execution systems
  • Proven experience with process development and optimization
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards (ISO 9001)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Experience with automation and robotics in assembly processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project
