Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer II at RIX Industries is responsible for driving improvements and ensuring manufacturing readiness for designated products within the production areas. This role focuses on developing and implementing manufacturing processes, leading corrective actions for production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, operation sequences, tooling, and process documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness for assigned products, including accurate routings and BOM structures.
  • Influence product design for better manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Implement manufacturing process improvements to enhance safety, throughput, and product quality.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing failures.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs and establish time standards for production planning.
  • Support implementation of engineering changes to align with new designs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production teams.
  • Evaluate equipment and tooling requirements for capital equipment implementation.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and inefficiencies.
  • Lead moderately complex manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide training to personnel.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • Strong understanding of algebra, geometry, and advanced mathematical concepts
  • Knowledge of machine design and GD&T dimensioning
  • Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) structuring and routings
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and technical writing skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Autodesk-Inventor, Visio, Excel, and Project
  • Ability to perform basic cost accounting calculations
  • U.S. citizenship or qualified U.S. person status
