Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer II at RIX Industries operates in Sparks, NV, focusing on enhancing manufacturing processes for gas generation systems and related technologies. This position is responsible for driving improvements, ensuring manufacturing readiness for new products, and addressing production issues through process optimizations and corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and process documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness for assigned products, optimizing routings and BOM structures.
  • Influence product design for better manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing failures with Quality collaboration.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs and establish time standards for production planning.
  • Support engineering change implementations ensuring accurate manufacturing documentation.
  • Coordinate with quality and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and production bottlenecks.
  • Evaluate equipment and tooling needs and support capital equipment implementation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean events.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for production personnel and junior engineers.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Solid understanding of algebra, geometry, and advanced mathematical concepts.
  • Familiarity with mechanisms and assembly interrelations.
  • Working knowledge of machine design and GD&T dimensioning.
  • Experience with detail part manufacturing and production workflow planning.
  • Advanced understanding of BOM structuring and routings.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and technical writing skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Autodesk-Inventor, Visio, Excel, Project).
  • Ability to perform basic cost accounting calculations (ROI, NPV, Cost of Goods).
