Job Description

Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer 3 at Daniel Defense, you will play a critical role in supporting assembly and test manufacturing operations through various engineering and process development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include optimizing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting production issues, and leading continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support environmental health and safety initiatives.
  • Plan, develop, and improve manufacturing processes for assembly and test operations.
  • Analyze and optimize workflow and equipment layout.
  • Design and implement assembly tooling and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot production processes, tooling, and equipment issues.
  • Support torque-controlled assembly process development.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities.
  • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Research and improve manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Conduct audits of assembly processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assure product quality through process validation and capability analysis.
  • Maintain operational readiness of production tooling and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts and practices
  • Experience with GD&T and SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Understanding of assembly processes and tooling methods
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
  • Development experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing performance metrics
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with automated manufacturing systems is beneficial
