Job Description

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer at GS Precision Inc is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, providing technical support, and ensuring efficiency within a dynamic production environment. This role involves collaboration with various teams to achieve operational goals in the aerospace and defense industries.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes via CNC programs and detailed setup information
  • Collaborate with toolmakers and Process Engineers on manufacturing methods and requirements
  • Maintain process documentation to meet internal and industry standards
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the Operations team
  • Perform machine setups for difficult or unproven processes
  • Train and mentor CNC operators and setup personnel
  • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives

Required skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Cad/Cam and manufacturing-specific software
  • Proficient with G-Code and CNC machine controls
  • High level of understanding of machining processes
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least three years of related manufacturing experience required
  • Experience with Mastercam and Solidworks preferred
