Overview

Clarios is seeking a Manufacturing Controls Engineer for the night shift to support their manufacturing operations in Middletown, Delaware. The role focuses on troubleshooting and enhancing equipment reliability at the facility, ensuring smooth operations alongside maintenance technicians. This is a vital hands-on position aimed at maintaining efficiency and safety in battery production while contributing to the company's operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead engineering support on the night shift
  • Independently troubleshoot PLC, electrical, and mechanical issues affecting production
  • Diagnose and resolve manufacturing interruptions to minimize downtime
  • Perform PLC troubleshooting and implement minor program modifications
  • Identify root causes of failures and execute sustainable corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime and process optimization
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and production teams for safe and efficient operations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • 2+ years of manufacturing support experience or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems
  • Ability to work independently as the sole engineer on shift
  • Experience in battery manufacturing or high-volume industrial environments is preferred
  • Exposure to robotics troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis
