Description Reporting directly into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following: Lead the installation, integration, commissioning, and optimization of automation and process equipment. Drive production improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability. Troubleshoot electrical, controls, instrumentation, and automation issues to minimize downtime and improve plant performance. Provide technical support during start-ups, operational upsets, and process troubleshooting activities. Modify, maintain, and enhance PLC and HMI systems to support operational improvements and new equipment implementation. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during equipment installation and commissioning projects. Support process safety management activities, including management of change, pre-startup safety reviews, and mechanical integrity initiatives. Participate in risk assessments, hazard reviews, and process safety studies while implementing effective control measures. Lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions for electrical and automation-related issues. Ensure compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and hazardous area requirements. Develop and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, control documentation, and technical records. Manage small to medium-sized capital projects and support broader site engineering initiatives. Promote and champion a strong safety culture across all engineering and manufacturing activities. Profile Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of five years' experience within automation, controls, process manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial production environments. Strong understanding of PLCs, industrial controls, instrumentation, electrical systems, and automation technologies. Demonstrated experience implementing and integrating automation solutions within live manufacturing operations. Knowledge of process safety management principles and industrial safety requirements is highly desirable. Experience with platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk, or similar industrial automation software is advantageous. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, maintenance, operations, and external vendor teams.
