Founded over 35 years ago and headquartered in Princeton, NJ, AIT is vertically integrated and operates two adjacent manufacturing sites equipped for R&D, compounding, cleanroom processing, and pilot-to-production scale manufacturing.Position Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Manufacturing / Facilities Engineer to support daily operations, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure facility reliability across our Princeton campuses. The ideal candidate will split their time between production engineering support and overseeing building infrastructure systems, with direct involvement in capital projects, process improvements, and equipment upgrades.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges in both process and facilities environments and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing setting.Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing:Design and build production systems involving compounding, mixing, laminating, cutting, and packaging of adhesives and films.Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical/electrical/process issues across production lines.Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for manufacturing equipment (mixers, ovens, slitters, roll-to-roll laminators, etc.).Support the launch and scale-up of new products, including equipment/tooling specification, operator work instructions, and process controls.If hands on enough, participate in the manufacturing process.Facilities:Overall maintenance and oversight of 2 manufacturing facilities.Oversee critical building infrastructure: HVAC systems (cleanrooms and labs), electrical panels, compressors, vacuum lines, safety equipment, and fire suppression systems.Plan and coordinate internal moves, facility layout improvements, and expansion projects.Manage contractor relationships for plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, compressed air, and electrical work.Maintain documentation related to building schematics, utility maps, and safety inspections.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience).2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (chemicals, adhesives, or high-mix production a plus).Strong understanding of industrial facility systems (HVAC, air handling, compressed air, fire code compliance, etc.).Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment.Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software is a plus.Knowledge of OSHA standards and building codes related to manufacturing operations.Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and project management skills.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience.Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.Opportunity to work across engineering, operations, and production teams.High visibility role in a vertically integrated and rapidly growing manufacturer.Stable and innovative work environment with long-term advancement potential.
