Job Description

Overview

As the Managing Director, National Accounts at BMO Financial, you will lead the development and management of a portfolio of complex clients in the automotive industry. This senior, client-facing role involves originating new business, deepening client relationships, and providing tailored financing solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Originate and win new business while expanding share of wallet within existing client relationships.
  • Lead the structuring and delivery of bespoke financing solutions.
  • Serve as the primary relationship lead and trusted advisor to clients.
  • Drive execution of complex transactions, including negotiation and closing.
  • Collaborate across product groups to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Build and maintain a network of industry relationships and influencers.
  • Provide senior credit oversight and guidance for risk management.
  • Advise on deal structuring and support financial modeling efforts.
  • Ensure disciplined portfolio monitoring and risk identification.
  • Mentor and guide team members while communicating with senior leadership.

Required skills

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate lending or commercial banking
  • Expertise in financial analysis and credit assessment
  • Proven track record in business development and revenue generation
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating complex transactions
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce, or Economics
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or CBV designation is considered an asset
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced collaboration and leadership abilities
  • Excellent time and priority management skills
