Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Managing Director, Fraud Strategy Performance to lead the development of innovative credit solutions and strategies focused on mitigating first party fraud across various retail credit products. This senior role involves leveraging data analytics and advanced decision-making tools to enhance customer experience and optimize risk-return outcomes within the Canadian Personal & Business Banking sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain risk decision-support strategies for designated risk portfolios.
  • Lead the development of First Party Fraud (FPF) strategies across retail credit product suites.
  • Collaborate with credit strategy leads to manage customer lifecycle and enhance fraud prevention.
  • Monitor and calibrate early warning signals for elevated risk indications.
  • Analyze information from Enterprise Fraud Management to address vulnerabilities.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive Fraud taxonomy for improved reporting and prevention.
  • Conduct first party fraud risk assessments for new products and processes.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture and compliance with risk management frameworks.
  • Develop accurate credit proposals and support policy change proposals.
  • Mentor and lead a diverse team to drive performance and engagement.

Required skills

  • 10+ years of Financial Services experience, preferably in credit
  • Fraud prevention and analytical skills
  • Understanding of modeling, advanced analytics, and data analytics
  • Experience in stress testing and quantitative analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of Fraud Policies and processes
  • Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian regulations regarding FPF prevention
  • Ability to network and establish industry relationships

What the company offers

  • Base salary range of CDN $170,000.00 to CDN $185,000.00
