Job Description

Overview

The Managing Attorney at McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP oversees strategic and tactical matters related to the daily operations of the Practice Group while supporting the firm's overall mission. This role includes overseeing a team, client service, and ensuring the effectiveness of legal practices within the firm.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and strategic direction of the Practice Group
  • Communicate and implement strategic objectives
  • Act as a liaison with professional regulatory bodies
  • Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork
  • Train staff on litigation and legal matters
  • Attend court hearings and conduct legal research
  • Provide guidance on legal matters including title issues and collections
  • Supervise staff and conduct performance reviews
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing submissions

Required skills

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the LA State Bar
  • 5-10 years of litigation experience
  • Leadership and team management
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of UCC, foreclosure, bankruptcy, TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Organizational development knowledge
