Overview

The Manager of Patient Care Services at Southeast Georgia Health System is responsible for directing and supervising the nursing service team in the Emergency Care Center. This leadership role involves ensuring high quality patient care through effective team management, financial oversight, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise nursing service team members 24/7 on designated patient care units.
  • Manage unit budget and demonstrate financial responsibility for staffing and equipment.
  • Maintain open communication with campus directors and collaborate with health team members.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient experience and performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff.
  • Ensure effective orientation and ongoing education for team members.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment for appropriateness and maintenance.

Required skills

  • Graduate of a diploma or associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Current RN License in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum of four years of supervisory experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • BLS certification required, with ACLS and PALS as applicable.
  • Knowledge of Cerner electronic health record preferred.
