Overview

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Manager of Respiratory Therapy to oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care and manage the department's operations. This leadership role will focus on evaluating patient respiratory needs and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards in respiratory care services.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and ensure safe, quality patient care in assigned departments
  • Ensure compliance with departmental standards, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct respiratory assessments as needed
  • Administer medications and perform clinical modalities as prescribed

Required skills

  • Completion of a two-year AMA approved respiratory care program
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years in clinical respiratory therapy in an acute hospital environment
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience
  • Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations
  • Current Florida license as RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Critical thinking and service excellence skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • PC skills
