Overview

The Manager Nursing Unit for Labor & Delivery at Rutland Regional Medical Center is responsible for managing the operations of specific nursing units, ensuring quality patient care, and supporting nursing staff. This role emphasizes new grad RN retention, patient experience, compliance with Performance Improvement initiatives, staffing patterns, and budget management.

  • Ensure quality of patient care
  • Collaborate with other leaders and team members
  • Focus on new grad RN retention and patient experience
  • Oversee compliance with Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Manage staffing patterns and budget

Required skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 5 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • 2 years of Charge or Leadership experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont
  • BLS Certification
  • Unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, STABLE)
  • Patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification
  • Strong clinical nursing practice knowledge
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Clinical program development experience
  • Basic Microsoft desktop application skills
  • Knowledge of financial aspects of department operations
