Overview

MI Windows and Doors is seeking a Manager of Fixed Asset & Lease Accounting to oversee capital projects and lease accounting activities across multiple manufacturing sites. This role ensures compliance with GAAP while driving process improvements and optimizing systems, serving as a key liaison among various departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of fixed asset and lease accounting, ensuring compliance with GAAP (ASC 360 & ASC 842).
  • Design, standardize, and improve capital expenditure and asset tracking workflows.
  • Lead lease accounting, including lease classification and ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen internal controls and improve data accuracy.
  • Drive systems optimization and automation to reduce manual processes.
  • Supervise accounting close activities, reporting, audits, and documentation.
  • Mentor and develop staff accountants and support technical accounting research.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of fixed asset and lease accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 360 and ASC 842.
  • Experience in a multi-site manufacturing or capital-intensive environment.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP, Sage Fixed Assets, MRI/ProLease.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • CPA preferred.
