Overview

The Manager-Construction at WaterOne is responsible for overseeing the Construction, Maintenance, and Valving & Services Departments. This role involves managing schedules, directing employee work, and ensuring productivity and safety across various projects related to water distribution systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and schedule employees in the Construction, Maintenance, and Valving & Services Departments
  • Coordinate project efforts with peers and stakeholders
  • Create and communicate work schedules for construction and maintenance crews
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and replacement programs for water distribution systems
  • Conduct regular field inspections and document findings
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and policies
  • Drive performance through training and development of team members
  • Handle investigations of utility damages and coordinate with claims departments
  • Participate in 24-hour emergency call-outs

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction and maintenance within the utility industry
  • Experience in safety training and enforcement of safety policies
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong problem-solving and judgment skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
