Overview

The Manager of Construction at WaterOne oversees and directs the activities of the Construction, Maintenance, and Valving & Services Departments. This role involves managing schedules, coordinating work, and ensuring safety and productivity standards are met in relation to water distribution systems and maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage, schedule, and direct work of employees in relevant departments.
  • Create and communicate work schedules for crews and coordinate distribution main replacement.
  • Plan preventive maintenance for the water distribution system.
  • Oversee project documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor safety precautions at work sites.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget and expenditures.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders on right-of-way requirements and property restoration.
  • Ensure timely data entry and accurate records in relevant applications.
  • Develop short and long-term strategic plans aligning with organizational goals.
  • Mentor and train team members, conducting performance evaluations.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science and Management, Business, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction and maintenance within the utility industry.
  • Experience in safety training and policy enforcement.
  • Project management and construction management skills.
  • Familiarity with GIS, ERP systems, and various software applications.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and scheduling skills.

What the company offers

  • Full-time exempt position.
  • Salary range of $157,534 to $180,467 per year based on qualifications and experience.
