Overview

KPMG is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager for its Business Tax Services practice, focusing on real estate clients in Chicago. You will manage client relationships, provide high-quality tax service, and work as part of a cross-functional account team, leveraging KPMG's extensive resources and innovative technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of real estate clients and act as the main point of contact.
  • Build and maintain client relationships by providing expert tax advice.
  • Supervise financial performance of client engagements, including billing and budget management.
  • Contribute to market activities supporting high growth sectors.
  • Oversee and empower teams of tax professionals working on client projects.

Required skills

  • Minimum five years of recent experience as a tax manager in public accounting.
  • Partnership tax experience in financial services specific to real estate.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; CPA, JD/LLM, or EA required.
  • Proficiency in taxation of REITs, partnerships, and flow-through entities.
  • Exceptional skills in reviewing complex tax returns including 1120-REIT and 1065.
  • Strong research and writing capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
