Overview

The Manager of Business Development at John Paul Mitchell Systems is responsible for driving new business growth in the Wisconsin territory, focusing on identifying and supporting new salon opportunities. This role combines sales, training, and strategic account management to enhance the presence of JPMS products in top-tier salons.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently identify and pursue new salon opportunities in the territory.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing new business.
  • Support the local BSG team in opening top-tier new salon doors.
  • Conduct training sessions on JPMS products for DSCs and store teams.
  • Build and manage a business pipeline with strategic account plans.
  • Cross-sell JPMS products in existing salons that lack certain items.
  • Identify under-penetrated markets and execute targeted conversion plans.
  • Participate in local and national trade and education shows and events.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience in field sales within the salon professional channel.
  • Proven track record of opening new salons.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with salon owners and distributors.
  • Organizational skills to manage territory and customer relationships.
  • Effective communication skills for presentations and consultations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Licensure in cosmetology or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for workplace use.
