Overview

CAN Community Health is seeking a Manager of Accounting to oversee financial reporting, maintain accounting principles, and supervise accounting staff. This full-time role involves managing general ledger maintenance, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with auditing processes in a dynamic healthcare environment that focuses on serving those impacted by infectious diseases.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned accounting staff and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Maintain general ledger and oversee financial reporting processes
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Collaborate with the Director of Accounting on audits and compliance
  • Develop and implement new accounting procedures and workflows
  • Manage grant accounting and ensure compliance with funding regulations
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Train and guide new and existing staff

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Non-Profit accounting experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle NetSuite ERP and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and grant accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Leadership and customer service skills
