Overview

The Mammography Supervisor at Duke Health will oversee the clinical operations within the Imaging Department, ensuring effective management of equipment, personnel, and patient scheduling. The role includes supervision of imaging procedures, quality control, and collaboration with various medical professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise clinical operations of the Imaging Department.
  • Plan and schedule work for the assigned unit, ensuring adequate staffing.
  • Schedule patients for imaging examinations and explain procedures.
  • Position patients for imaging views using protective equipment.
  • Evaluate imaging examinations for additional projections as needed.
  • Assist in formulating and revising technique charts and protocols.
  • Compile statistical reports reflecting operational activities.
  • Provide technical instruction and consultation to students and employees.
  • Recommend personnel actions including hiring and performance appraisals.

Required skills

  • Leadership and team management
  • Compliance with safety procedures
  • Experience in imaging modalities (Radiologic Tech, MR, CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, Interventional Rad
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Certification from ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB
  • BLS certification
