Job Description

Overview

As a Major Gift Officer at TechTown Detroit, you will lead the organization's major and individual giving program. This role involves managing donor relationships, qualifying new prospects, and implementing strategic funding initiatives to support TechTown's mission of fostering entrepreneurship and economic development in Detroit.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement major and individual giving programs
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with existing major gift prospects
  • Qualify new prospects for major gifts
  • Secure major and individual gifts with an annual goal of $250,000
  • Manage donor tracking systems and databases
  • Create and implement moves management plans
  • Facilitate face-to-face solicitations with donors
  • Plan and manage annual fundraising campaigns and private fundraisers
  • Report on progress to stakeholders

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, business administration or related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in fundraising and major donor solicitations
  • Professional understanding of development and alumni affairs best practices
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
