Overview

The Maintenance Trainer at Transdev is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating technical training programs aimed at improving maintenance employee performance, ensuring compliance with standards, and enhancing fleet reliability and safety. This role involves close collaboration with maintenance leadership to identify skill gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for maintenance personnel
  • Evaluate technician performance and identify skill gaps
  • Partner with maintenance leadership to address training needs
  • Analyze maintenance data to develop targeted training solutions
  • Support standard maintenance procedures and safety protocols
  • Conduct hands-on training and provide technical guidance
  • Monitor effectiveness of training programs and adjust content as needed
  • Assist with quality assurance audits and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain training records and prepare progress reports
  • Promote a safe and organized work environment

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance and repair of heavy-duty or transit equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of diesel and alternative fuel systems, transmissions, air brake systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and maintenance software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training and mentoring
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to obtain ASE certifications and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
