Overview

The Maintenance Technician at BH is responsible for overseeing physical assets and ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. This role requires a commitment to service and adherence to safety standards while assisting with preventive maintenance and property rehabilitation projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the oversight of physical assets
  • Diagnose problems and perform repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Perform preventive maintenance and manage apartment make-readies
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety requirements
  • Complete maintenance requests within company standards
  • Identify and report hazardous conditions to management
  • Maintain security of property-issued tools
  • Share on-call responsibilities with the maintenance team
  • Respond to resident requests according to company standards

Required skills

  • Minimum of two years of general maintenance and safety experience
  • Intermediate computer skills including industry-specific technology
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local maintenance codes
  • EPA section 608; Type II - HVAC certification required
  • Ability to provide own hand tools
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks
