Overview

Alsum Farms & Produce Inc. is seeking a full-time Second Shift Maintenance Technician Lead to maintain large production machinery. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, training shift technicians, and ensuring the efficient operation of machinery to support potato and onion processing.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines
  • Assist with planning and preparation of training for maintenance associates
  • Prioritize tasks and guide shift techs on efficient fixes
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts
  • Request and install replacement parts for machines
  • Identify causes of unexpected machine breakdowns and repair them quickly
  • Clean, organize, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
  • Utilize CMMS for tracking machine repairs and inventory

Required skills

  • Experience in maintenance with an Associate Degree or 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring (3 phase 480v), carpentry, plumbing, heating, and ventilation
  • Proficiency in MIG and arc welding
  • Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication, supervisory, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
  • Valid state motor vehicle license
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work at heights
