In addition to traditional facility maintenance, a successful candidate will be able to successfully perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance tasks on production equipment in Dogwood Industries' metals fabrication shop. Duties & ResponsibilitiesUse test and diagnostic equipment to identify and fix problemsPerform equipment modifications as directed by the supervisorTroubleshoot issues on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipmentSet up equipment (leveling, anchoring, adjusting, set stops and squaring arms)Perform small tool disassembly and repairMaintain the spares and consumables parts inventoryGeneral facility maintenance and repairs to office and shop All other duties as assignedExtended hours of work may be required. Requirements: Skills RequiredAbility to follow periodic maintenance per manufacturers recommendations and as neededAbility to work safely and follow company safety rules and guidelines Ability to use hand and power toolsAbility to read and understand schematic parts diagramsAbility to read and understand equipment manuals Ability to order small tool partsAbility to write neatly and speak clearly Ability to keep a clean work area and equipment Knowledge of OSHA safety standardsAdditional Skills PreferredFamiliarity with 480V 3PH cord and plug repairAbility to perform bridge crane and hoist maintenanceBasic welding skillsTwo-year technical degreeForklift experience Basic carpentry skillsBasic computer skillsQualificationsMinimum two-year prior experience maintaining industrial equipment or similar workPhysical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Compensation$25.00 - $37.00, per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
