Job Description

Overview

As a Maintenance Technician at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), you will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks on plant equipment, including diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will work within a team to conduct preventive maintenance activities and respond to breakdowns in a production environment, ensuring operational excellence and safety in your tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, rebuild, or replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities
  • Answer breakdown calls in a production environment
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
  • Conduct quality checks and follow safety procedures

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery
  • Technical degree in mechanical or electrical trades (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of English for instructions
  • Experience in the corrugated packaging or printing industry (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team
