Overview

The Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Canton, Ohio. This role entails maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of production equipment and facilities, including troubleshooting and repairing production systems and installing various components. A strong commitment to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Uphold Food Safety
  • Work safely and be organized
  • Repair and maintenance of production machinery & equipment, physical plant, utilities & grounds
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant production systems
  • Repair and install sanitary type pumps and valves
  • Repair and maintenance of 24vdc control circuits
  • Complete projects in a timely manner
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Climb and work safely at heights
  • Work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Chemical Safety Procedures
  • Perform tasks necessary to ensure Safe Quality Food production
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Plant Managers to meet goals
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Knowledge of P&ID drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot digital and analog instrumentation
  • Experience with 24vdc control circuits
  • Experience with PLC controlled equipment
  • Experience with high-pressure boiler systems
  • Experience with wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration
  • Basic knowledge of personal computer-based equipment
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Effective communication skills
